The Pig’s Back is funded by the Arts Council of Ireland and commits to upholding its Pay the Artist policy. We fully believe that an artist’s time is valuable and that they should be paid for that time. We are delighted to be involved with SayWhatYouPay which will bring greater pay transparency to the Irish literature sector. In light of that we are happy to share our payment structure.

• The Pig’s Back pays a flat rate of €300 per piece published

• For in-person readings, each reader will also receive €300. This covers both travel expenses and accommodation.

• We ensure that writers’ copyright is respected.
