(Any submission received outside this window will not be considered)
The Pig’s Back seeks submissions of previously unpublished fiction and non-fiction. We accept work from anywhere in the world but currently can only accept English language pieces. We do not accept poetry.
If you wish to submit work, please follow the guidelines below:
We welcome all forms of fiction and non-fiction.
Word count should be between 2000 and 5000 words.
Only one submission per person.
Please present work in one document (.doc or .docx). It should be in a standard font, 12pt and double-spaced.
We accept simultaneous submissions but would appreciate if you could notify us if your submission has been accepted elsewhere.
All contributors will receive a flat fee of €300. They will also receive two copies of the issue in which their work features.
Please e-mail submissions to submissions@thepigsback.ie. In the subject line please state whether the piece is fiction or non-fiction, followed by your name and the title of your piece. For example: [non-fiction] John Doe - My Memoir. We do not accept submissions by post.
We regret to say we are unable to give feedback on unsuccessful submissions. Though we try to get back to you as soon as possible, responses can take up to 2-3 months.
